What Did You Decide?

Everything begins with a decision. Where you are sitting right now is the result of millions of decisions you have made throughout your lifetime. That can seem overwhelming to think about. Can you point to one decision you made in the past that clearly played a major role in where you are now?

Here is mine….

I grew up in a family without any college graduates. Neither of my parents went to college or ever spoke about college. My dad only spoke about getting a job. It was not until I was in high school that I was exposed to the idea of attending college. My friends considered it the natural next step and were taking SAT tests to accompany their applications. When I brought it up to my dad, his reply was nonchalant and something like, “sure, if you can pay for it.” So, to me, that was my barrier to entry and I wasn’t going to let that stop me. So, I drove to Austin, went to every store on Guadalupe (the drag) and asked for a job until someone said yes.

Boom, I was headed to college. I had to start at ACC because I was unaware of the application process to get into UT. I was able to transfer to UT and graduated with a degree in Communications. Deciding not to let anything keep me from getting a degree is the decision I made that has been the biggest factor in developing the landscape of my adult life.

… snacking on these! I don’t know about you but chips are one thing I couldn’t live without. Chips and queso are my jam. Since I also like my jeans to fit, I’ve switched from traditional chips to these Keto chips. They satisfy the craving and are pretty darn good. I order mine on Amazon
