Funny is Funny!

I freaking love funny people. Making me laugh is the quickest way to my heart. My favorite people tend to be funny. Recently, I attended a luncheon honoring Rosie Carrabba. She is the heart and soul of Rosie’s Carrabbas restaurant on Voss. People not only come for the food, they come to see Rosie. Her son Johnny introduced her with the most love and affection I have ever seen displayed by a son about his mother. They say there is something about Italian sons and their mothers. I believe it.

Rosie didn’t miss a beat when it was her turn to take the stage. She began by saying that her kids told her not to tell any jokes. It’s a good thing she didn’t listen. She told two of the funniest jokes I have heard in a while and her delivery was spot on. As a little Monday morning treat for you, here are her jokes:

A husband was walking behind his wife of 20+ years and told her that her backside was starting to look like a washing machine.

Later that evening when they were in bed, he started being romantic with her. She told him to stop because she wasn’t going to start such a huge machine for such a small load and suggested that he hand wash it. 

I almost fell out of my chair and she had the entire room in stitches.

Her second joke:

Men used to say, “why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free?” After thinking about that, she thinks women should ask why they they need to buy the whole pig for a little piece of sausage. 

Again, there wasn’t one person not belly laughing.
