Wow! Congratulations to our H-Town Houston Astros! The blood, sweat and tears have paid off for these dedicated, wildly talented athletes. It all started with a dream.
Each man on this team started playing ball as a kid. They dreamt of playing in college, making it to the big leagues and then of playing at the highest level. The steps between being drafted and playing on the big stage are not easy by any means. Most of us can’t name many players slugging it out in the minor leagues. Once we all know their names, they have put in thousands and thousands of hours preparing to be a household name.
Another thing most of them have in common is a supportive family and circle of people that live and die with each at bat, pitch and diving catch. These people are the team around the team. I have heard many Astros players say that they call their parents after every game.
Thank you to each and every member of the Astros organization for bringing home the hardware! And, thank you to the teams of people who keep these guys going by encouraging, listening and preparing them for this epic moment in their careers.
