Saturday Was Hard!
This past Saturday was a hard day for me. I was feeling depleted and generally down towards the end of the week. There wasn’t one thing in particular that I could point to as the reason I wasn’t feeling myself. Getting in bed early on Friday night felt like the right thing and I happily stayed home, ate gelato for dinner and was in bed by 9:00pm. Guess what?
I did not even crack an eyelid until 10:15am on Saturday morning. When I touched the screen of my phone to see the time, I panicked. My thoughts went from, “Oh, crap, I didn’t take the kids to school?” to “Where am I supposed to be for work right now?” Once I realized that the kids didn’t have school and that I was not missing a work appointment, I chose to stay in bed a little longer. Coffee was at 11:00am.
Here is where it got tough….
As I began to clean the kitchen, return calls and texts and start a running to-do list in my head, I had a rare thought. “You are tired. The only thing you NEED to do is rest.” How annoying. I am not very good at that. I’m great at doing a lot of things and pleasing a lot of people. But, I decided to listen to that little voice. I didn’t do anything all day. I stayed in my pajamas to be sure I wouldn’t leave the house. I napped. I watched a show with Casey. I let the kids order lunch and rested until I took Casey to see The Eagles, which was excellent. Running around would have been easier for me. That is what I know and do most of the time.
Resting was hard. Really hard.
I’m looking forward to Monday and getting back to work. That’s the easy part for me!

MARKET STATS
Single-family home sales were statistically flat, registering a fractional 0.2 percent decline with 9,079 units sold compared to 9,100 in April of 2021. On a year-to-date basis, however, the market has kept the momentum of what has so far been a strong year – running 7.4 percent ahead of 2021’s record-setting volume. (HAR Newsroom)

KALE AND SPROUTS SALAD
This is one of my go-to salad recipes when I don’t know what to make for dinner. Kale, brussels, Toasted almonds, cranberries, and a homemade vinaigrette with a little kick. For something more hearty, add blackened shrimp or a piece of salmon! Here’s the recipe link: Kale and Brussels Sprout Salad
