Houston Caffeine Addicts, Rejoice!

When it comes to needing a little caffeine boost on the go, I consider myself an expert. Being a realtor, I’m always always on the move driving from house to house so staying sharp between showings is a necessity for me. Over the years, I’ve collected a list of my favorite coffee shops and cafes in each neighborhood of Houston.

Here are a few that may save just you from a mid-day energy crash!

Giant Leap Coffee – Uptown Park

1135 Uptown Park Blvd
Houston, TX 77056  |  Map

832-834-3604

Website

They serve stellar premium locally-roasted coffee, cosmic pan dulce and snacks by Tlahuac, as well as a succinct and diverse selection of tea. At Giant Leap, we understand that an awesome cup of coffee is one small step toward a better morning, a more productive meeting and a more relatable universe.

Cavo Coffee – Rice Village

2617 Bissonnet St #101
Houston, TX 77005 | Map

346-319-4092

Website

Coffee is served in countless ways at this West University shop — brewed in halogen siphons, an Aeropress, or poured over — which makes it a solid destination for anyone who’s seriously picky about their brew. In need of further sustenance? Until 2 p.m., score breakfast and lunch options like overnight oats, apple-gruyere scones, or a croissant breakfast sandwich.

Common Bond Cafe & Bakery – The Heights

449 W 19th Street, Suite B-100,
Houston, TX 77008  |  Map

713-357-9397

Website

In every city, village, and town the “common bond” that everyone shares is the love of good food. It bridges together all ages, cultures, and beliefs. From this idea, Common Bond Bistro & Bakery was opened in May 2014 in the Montrose area of Houston, TX.  They now have 7 locations across the city of Houston where the community gathers to dine and bond over good food, extraordinary pastries, and custom cakes. I just love the sweet pastels of the decor and packaging here!

The Yellow Cup – Memorial

6001 Washington Ave #100

Houston, TX 77007 | Map

832-516-9558

Website

Each coffee is roasted differently with specific flavor profiles. The coffees that are selected have been cupped and approved by WestBean’s roasting and production team. The Yellow Cup works closely with WestBean to bring the best cup of coffee, from farm to cup. All house blends from WestBean and beans from our current guest roaster are available for sale in our retail section.  If you like was you’ve had at our store, you can bring one home too.

Blacksmith – Montrose

1018 Westheimer Rd

Houston, TX 77006 | Map

832-360-7470

Website

Blacksmith pairs up Houston’s famous Greenway Coffee with a menu of inspired breakfast and lunch items (house-made yogurt with a spiced vegan granola; Vietnamese steak and eggs with pâté and French bread) from Per Se and Babbo alum Erin Smith. I truly think they have the best biscuits in the world there; They’re to die for!

Snooze – Montrose

3217 Montrose Blvd Suite 100

Houston, TX 77006 | Map

713-470-4586

Website

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery is a Denver-based breakfast joint ear I-10 and Beltway 8. Houstonians can’t get enough of the company’s creative spin on breakfast tacos, sandwiches and pancakes. The spot offers a bold, high-energy space where the retro interior pops in hues of orange, citron and red. There, patrons sip on complimentary coffee and scan the menu, while they patiently wait their turn for a table. Feeling indecisive about what to order? Go for the Benny Duo—a half order of any two of Snooze’s benedict offerings or try a pancake flight with flavors like peach pie, blueberry Danish and sweet potato. The restaurant’s cocktail line-up is solid, too, especially the Bloody Mary with house-made mix and jalapeno-infused vodka. Snooze is open daily from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
