Mondays with Marnie | What's Your ETA?

Are you already here or are you on your way? What is your estimated time of arrival? At the young age of 56, I still feel like I haven’t fully arrived. I don’t know exactly how to explain it, but I feel like I am still on my way to arriving to be all that I can be. I love documentary films that show the story of someone coming from their beginnings and ending up with the feeling that they have finally arrived. Often times, they knew in their gut that they were meant for something more, something bigger or something more meaningful.

Don’t get me wrong, I have accomplished and experienced a lot in my lifetime and can point to numerous things that I’m looking forward to seeing and doing in the future. Does anyone ever feel like we have really arrived? And more importantly, should we? That feeling of having “made it” is often an illusion, something we think exists somewhere in the distance. But when we get closer, we realize there’s always something more-a new goal, a new experience, or a deeper level of understanding. This isn’t a bad thing. In fact, it’s what keeps life exciting and meaningful.

If we ever reached a point where we thought, “This is it–there’s nothing more,” life might start to feel stagnant. The idea that there’s always more to discover, more to give, and more to grow into keep us alive and engaged. You don’t have to live in a constant state of striving or dissatisfaction. Instead, embrace the process. Be content with where you are today while still staying open to what’s ahead.

The beauty of life lies in the in between moments–the process, the lessons, the experiences that shape us along the way. It’s okay if you don’t feel like you’ve “made it” yet, because that feeling is less about where you are and more about how you choose to see your journey.

You are always on your way. And that’s a wonderful thing. Keep going. Keep growing. Because the best part of life isn’t just arriving–it’s everything you discover on the way there.

CURRENTLY I’M…

I’m trying my hardest to drink more water but frankly need something with some taste after a few glasses of plain water. A friend told me about these amino acids that help with muscle recovery. I gave the orange flavor a try and love it. It is definitely making the 8 glasses of water go down a lot easier!
