The Best Investment We Can Make | Mondays with Marnie

This past week, I had the joy of taking my two oldest kids and my daughter’s fiancé to New York. We spent time at the U.S. Open, revisited some of our favorite restaurants, and toured the 9/11 Museum together. It was a full trip, but what stood out most to me wasn’t the matches, the meals, or even the sights—it was simply being together.

As our kids get older and busier, it becomes harder to carve out time like this. That’s why it feels so special when we do.

We made memories, shared new experiences, and had conversations that might never have happened if we hadn’t been side by side for a few days.

Trips like this remind me that there’s truly no substitute for time with the people we love. We can spend our money on things, but the return on investing in shared experiences is unmatched. Whether it’s traveling, enjoying a meal together, or even just sitting and talking—these moments become the treasures we carry with us.

As a parent, I’ve realized that spending money on time with our adult kids is worth every penny. They may not always remember the gifts we buy them, but they’ll never forget the trips we took, the meals we shared, and the memories we made.

Here’s to creating more of those priceless moments—because in the end, they’re the ones that matter most.

XX,
