New Season, New Chapters | Mondays with Marnie

This past weekend, we celebrated my daughter Remi and her fiancé, Marshall at their wedding shower. It was such a beautiful evening — surrounded by people who love them — love was in the air, and you could feel it. It stirred up some emotions for me too.

I’ve really felt the life changes happening around me lately and have become acutely aware that I’m entering a new phase — the “empty nester” stage. I’ll be honest, it’s made me a little anxious. The rhythm of my daily life is changing, and I haven’t quite found my footing yet.

But during the shower, I had a shift in perspective. As I looked around the room, I saw friends from every part of Remi’s life — childhood, high school, and college. Each group represented a different chapter, a different version of who she was at the time. And it reminded me that transitions aren’t endings… they’re bridges to what comes next.

The end of having kids at home isn’t the end of everything — it’s simply the close of one beautiful chapter to make space for another. I’ve been through many stages in life before — some that I dreaded, others that I ran toward — and somehow, each one led me to something I couldn’t have imagined at the time.

One of my favorite quotes says, “No matter your age, you still probably haven’t met everyone who’s going to love you.” I think about that often. It’s such a comforting reminder that there are still people, experiences, and joys waiting for us — even when we can’t yet see them.

Life is a constant unfolding. Every phase brings new faces, new routines, and new ways to feel fulfilled. The key is to trust that just like the chapters before, the next one will be filled with meaning too.

Here’s to embracing change, finding peace in the unknown, and believing that the best parts of our story are still being written.
