Mondays with Marnie | How's Your Summer Bod Coming Along?

How’s Your Summer Body Coming Along…..

Someone once told me that summer bodies are made in the winter. Well, crap. It is creeping up on summer body time and winter is long gone for most of us. There are people who workout and eat healthy regardless of the time of year and those who try to cram it all in a few weeks before a beach vacation.

What’s your style? Steady Eddie or Cram it in Carl?I am a little of both. I never go completely off the rails for longer than a few days but definitely enjoy tacos, margaritas and rest days. It is easier for me to stay the course than to have to drastically change my habits at the last minute. If you think it is hard to do something consistently, try preparing for a couple of months to be in the ring with someone who’s been training all year. Chances are, you don’t stand a chance. “Beach bod ready” relates to all aspects of life.  Do you want to be at the top of your class, a leader in your industry, the best athlete on a team or a damn good parent, partner or friend? I don’t think you can cram for that. It takes consistency and hard work. You can still take breaks, take a vacation, eat a taco or occasionally cram for a test. But trust me, the bathing suit is going to fit much better and you will feel much better if you start working on that beach body during the winter.
See ya on the beach!
