Congrats to the Grads!

So many people are graduating this month and I say, “Way to Freaking Go!” Congratulations for working hard when you didn’t want to, staying the course when pulling over would have been easier and achieving your goals.

Graduating implies that you are moving on to something new. How exciting. I love new! The first day of school, work, a relationship, a new home, you name it, except for the first day of a diet!

It has been about 30 years since I graduated from college. Somehow, I did not feel 30 years older when I was on the dance floor celebrating Remi’s graduation from The University of Texas last weekend.

I have an idea.

If we don’t want to lose that thrilling feeling of graduating, let’s find new things to graduate from in life. Choose something sewn into your habits that no longer serves you and decide to graduate from that habit. Choose a thought that you have told yourself for years that is holding you back and graduate from having that thought. Begin a new habit or thought and keep that until it is time to graduate and begin a new one. Don’t forget to celebrate the graduation. Enlist the support of your family and friends to help you put that chapter behind you and get ready for what’s next.

Keep growing and keep graduating! That is what will keep us feeling young and ready for the dance floor no matter our age.

MARKET STATS

Houston’s housing supply challenges were no match for new-home sales last month, according to the latest monthly report from HomesUSA.

The three-month moving average of Houston new-home sales shows sales listed in MLS in April increased month over month from 1,635 to 1,775.

HAPPENING IN HOU

New restaurant alert!

I am loving the new restaurant on Buffalo Bayou Park: Flora! The restaurant opened in March, and the park views and 40+ chandeliers remain staples in this glass treehouse, once home to the Dunlavy. Contemporary Mexican bites and yummy cocktails – let me know if you try it!

COMPASS REAL ESTATE

The Houston Business Journal Residential Real Estate awards took place this month. Compass Houston is home to 30 award-winning agents/teams this year who took home a spectacular total of 46 awards!

CURRENTLY I’M…

…still celebrating our grad! We are so proud of Remi, who graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from UT. Excited to have her back in Houston and to begin her career at The James Flowers Health Institute.
