Mondays with Marnie | Can You Feel It?

Have you ever noticed how just a slight drop in temperature can make all the difference in Houston? It doesn’t have to be actually cool outside for you to feel that sweet, sweet relief. I have certainly noticed it on my morning walks!

Maybe it’s been a relentless 98 degrees, and now it’s just 93. It’s still hot by any measure, but somehow, it feels like you can breathe again. You walk outside, and that faint shift in the air is enough to recharge you. That small change can lift your spirits and brighten your mood for the entire day.

Life works the same way. A tiny improvement in a situation, a small win, can create a ripple effect that transforms your entire outlook. Often, we think that we need monumental changes to see progress, but the truth is, it’s the small, incremental steps that lead to breakthroughs. Let me tell you why those tiny shifts are more powerful than we give them credit for.

The 1% Difference

Imagine your life or business as a plane flying from Houston to New York. If that plane is off course by just 1%, it will end up hundreds of miles away from its destination. On the flip side, if you adjust your trajectory by just 1%, you get back on track and reach your goal. That’s the power of small improvements—a tiny shift today compounds over time and leads to a major difference in the future.

It’s easy to think that we need to overhaul our whole routine, mindset, or environment to see change. But the reality is, it’s those tiny adjustments—just like that subtle dip in temperature—that make life easier to navigate. And once you feel that small difference, it fuels you to keep going.

CURRENTLY I’M…

Thinking about reversing the sun damage on my face! My dear friend and plastic surgeon, Dr. Lisa Santos, told me about this clear sunscreen and I am really liking the way it feels alone or under makeup. She reminded me that the best way to treat hyperpigmentation is to prevent it in the first place.
