Do You Have 15 Minutes? Mondays with Marnie

Last week, I was fully dressed and ready to leave the house for an appointment when I realized I didn’t need to leave for another 15 minutes. My first thought was, What a waste. What could I possibly do with such a small amount of time?

I even considered arriving early, but sitting awkwardly in front of someone’s home didn’t feel right. Instead, I gave myself a

challenge: What can I accomplish in just 15 minutes?

The answer surprised me. In that short window, I made my bed, started a load of laundry, wrote my daily affirmation 50 times, and even cooked the grilled chicken I was planning to have for dinner (which, by the way, only takes 10 minutes in the air fryer).

What struck me wasn’t just the productivity—it was the reminder that time gaps, no matter how small, aren’t wasted unless we let them be. We live in a world where everyone feels overwhelmed and pressed for time, but the truth is, 15 minutes is often enough to make a meaningful dent in the day.

It could be:

  • Writing a quick thank-you note
  • Making a phone call you’ve been putting off
  • Tidying up one corner of the house
  • Meditating or stretching
  • Starting (not finishing!) a task that matters

We often wait for the “perfect block” of time to get things done, but life is lived in the in-between moments. Fifteen minutes may not seem like much, but stack enough of those together, and you’ll be amazed at what you can accomplish.

And just like in real estate, the little things often add up to the big results. Whether it’s making small improvements to a home before selling or taking the time to answer one more question for a client, it’s usually those 15-minute details that make the biggest difference in the end.

So the next time you catch yourself with a small pocket of time, don’t dismiss it. Use it. Those little wins add up—to a less overwhelming day, a more intentional life, and often, some very delicious air fryer chicken.
