New Year, Who Dis?
Happy New Year! It is safe to say that most of the country is ready to put 2020 in the rear view mirror. A new year comes with new hope, new intentions and new possibilities. As we get this 2021 thing going, I have a question for you (and for myself).
I love the beginning of pretty much anything. That’s where the excitement lives. New romance? Have you ever met anyone more perfect? New job? I bet you are one of the first people in the office and willing to go the extra mile to help out.
A little further along, your boss or the person you are dating may be thinking, who dis?
We all change and grow without noticing it along the way. The new year is a good time to check in with yourself and make sure you are happy with the answer to the question, Who Dis?
Are you the person you would want to work with, date or live with? I am asking myself if I am the kind of person that I would want as a parent, an employer or a friend. A fun thing to get this going is to write down the traits of other people that you admire and respect. Do you have any of the same qualities? What if we just tried to implement one new, positive quality a month? That would be a dozen new admirable traits and be a little insurance that when asked, Who Dis? In 2022, you will be proud of the answer.

What a year 2020 was… I came across this poem by Cleo Wade in Vanity Fair called “It is okay (a poem of validation for the year 2020)” and I think everyone should give it a read if 2020 wasn’t quite what you expected.
